I've ordered this calcium once before. It is the best calcium I have ever tried.
I can tell within ten minutes, how much calcium is absorbed because I do not have parathyroid glands. Over the past eighteen years, I have tried at least fifteen different brands of calcium. Just a point of information, one capsule of Intracal does not provide 100% calcium for me. I am finding that I need to take four to achieve 100% calcium requirement which is equivalent to the # of capsules I needed to take of calcium citrate. I take this amount once to twice daily depending on my activity level. I stopped taking the calcium citrate because it was causing irritation to my urinary tract.

What is an orotate?
Orotates are the mineral salts of a natural substance called orotic acid. It is found in your body and also dairy products. Dr. Hans Nieper's theoretical explanations of the mechanisms behind his stunning success in the clinical application of sophisticated mineral transporters rely heavily on the concept of the fixed pore mechanism of active transport. The theory called fixed pore mechanism suggests that a carrier molecule, in this case Orotic Acid (B-13), is attached to the compound being transported. This research has lead to the creation of mineral chelates called orotic acid chelates, or orotates which offers a 20 fold increase in utilizing minerals.
